The Third Summer Social of Sauce Making

The Third Summer Social promises to be a festive gathering of culinary enthusiasts eager to showcase their sauce-making prowess and revel in the joy of the Italian community and creativity. Whether you're a seasoned sauce artisan or a humble cook inspired by your Nonna's cherished recipe, this event is your chance to shine.
Competitors will put their sauce-making skills to the test, vying for both bragging rights and a coveted plaque engraved with their name and the year of victory. To submit your sauce, the entry fee is $20. All attendees will pay $20 to taste and vote in the competition. We will have a cash bar during the event.
Sauce competitors can compete in one of the two tantalizing categories:
- Meat Sauce: From robust and hearty ragù to delicate reductions, showcase the depth of flavor your meat-based sauce can provide.
- Non-Meat Sauce: Let your creativity shine with vegetarian sauces, from rich tomato-based wonders to creamy, herbed delights.
Attendees will participate in the tasting experience. Here's how it works:
- All sauces will be presented anonymously to ensure unbiased voting.
- Each taster will have the opportunity to taste all the sauces in both categories.
- The Krewe will supply the pasta.
Winners in each category will receive:
- Bragging Rights: Recognition as the sauce-making champion of the summer social.
- Engraved Plaque: A beautifully designed plaque commemorating their victory, complete with their name and the year they won.
